Our Story

We are located in rural Brookings, South Dakota. Thad spent his childhood with labs. He always had a hunting partner by his side. Devan, who is a Veterinary Technician and Certified Dog Trainer, has always had a love of and compassion for any animal. In 2007, we welcomed our first lab into our family and loved labs since. We started our adventure of breeding and raising puppies in 2013. Our dogs are a huge part of not only our lives but our children’s lives, as well. They are hunting partners, 4-H dog show dogs, our running partners, and just all-around wonderful and loving family companions. We enjoy sharing our love for the breed by producing quality puppies. Our goal is to produce a loving family lab that will fit into any lifestyle. Our puppies can become hunting partners, show prospects, field trial champions, or just a cuddly couch potato, whichever you choose.

Over Devan’s 20 years of experience being an RVT, she observed countless human-animal bonds being destroyed from miscommunication between owners and their dogs. In 2022, she decided to take the step back into higher education to help owners experiencing that communication gap. She graduated from Animal Behavior College as a Certified Dog Trainer in August of 2023 and is ready to continue helping clients and animals in a different way. Devan uses a force free, positive reinforcement, choice-based training techniques. These techniques are an absolute joy to use as it is not only fun and exciting for the dog but also for Devan and her clients.

Our Dogs

Our labs come from excellent bloodlines. They have thick double coats, large otter tails, thick chests, and blocky heads. We have set our standards high. Our dogs go through very thorough health screenings before we consider breeding them to ensure there are no genetic health issues that may be passed down. We are working hard to reduce genetic health problems, so you can feel confident that your high-quality puppy will be your companion for many years to come.

Our Puppies

All our puppies are born and raised in our kennel facility. We have worked very hard to have a clean healthy kennel. For the first 8 weeks of life, our puppies receive nothing but love, care, and attention. They will be socialized with adults, children, horses, cats, chickens, and other dogs. Your puppy will become your best friend and a loved member of your family. He or she will not only have a very affectionate demeanor, but they will make heads turn, receive compliments, and make you proud wherever you go.

We make sure every puppy is healthy. They will receive their first distemper vaccination, several rounds of dewormer, a puppy wellness exam performed by a veterinarian, be microchipped, and we offer a 24-month hip and elbow health guarantee. We want every puppy to be adopted by a loving, financially stable home. We do not ship our puppies. We prefer that you pick your puppy up. For the puppy, the ride home will be less stressful with you. We would love to meet you and your family personally. We would also welcome you to come to our facility to see where your puppy was raised. Our puppies are $1500 with Limited AKC Registration. This means you will not receive breeding rights, but the puppy can still be AKC registered. To reserve a puppy, we take a $200 non-refundable deposit. If for any reason, you cannot get your puppy, we can move your deposit to the next available litter. The remaining balance must be paid in full before your puppy leaves.
